George Hazell has been a practicing Brisbane architect registered with the Queensland Board of Architects since 1995. He received a Concrete Masonry Student Award and completed his Bachelor of Architecture in 1992 with 2nd class Honours at the University of Queensland. George's thesis detailed Queensland House History with a particular focus on the heritage rich area of Shorncliffe. He continues to expand this knowledge of the Queensland vernacular with each project, housing or commercial.
George's practice provides design based solutions for new houses, extensions and various commercial projects. His work often reflects a modern interpretation of the verandah, an inviting retreat providing shade and shelter in Queensland's harsh environment. The name 2-Xist is a gesture of this primary human need for shelter and a place to rest and recharge.
This folio reflects the work George has conducted outside his project role within the Architectural firms he has worked in since graduating.
Feel free to contact George for an architectural quote and sketch design on your new project.
